The Oakland Athletics struggled at the plate today against the Chicago White Sox as they lost 4-1.  The White Sox held the Athletics to only six singles in the game, and the only run the Athletics scored was in the 9th inning.

Dana Eveland took the lose and his record now stands at 1-1 on the season.  Eveland gave up four runs (three of them earned) in only 4.2 innings of play.  Joey Devine and Kirk Sarloos did pitch the final 3.1 innings without giving up a hit.

Emil Brown was the only Athletics hitter to record an RBI in the game.
