Black Jacks! A’s win again!

The two Jacks, Hannahan and Cust, put the A’s over the top to give them the win 4-3.  Backed by what else, but another solid pitching performance by Josh Outman who received timely run support to give him his fourth victory.

After the Twins put up a three spot in the top of the fourth, Jack Hannahan matched it in the bottom half of the inning by driving in three with a bases-clearing double to left center. This all came after Aaron Cunningham was drilled in the head by fastball to load the bases. The next inning proved to be the difference as Jack Cust crushed a solo-shot to right to give the A’s the final score of 4-3.

Outman was roughed up in the third but that was it. Outman (3-3) went six innings, striking out seven and surrendered all three runs on four hits, he walked two.

The draft begins tomorrow, what position would you guy’s like to be filled with the first pick? pitching, offense?

Take it easy A’s fans, seven straight is nice but eight is better!

I love Green. I really like the pick….drafting for a need with the best player on the board. A great combination.

I agree, it looks like this pick was a good one.
Too bad he can’t pitch relief and help out two horrible relief pitchers in Casilla and Springer.

What happened to the A’s tonight? They look like they did before the winning streak began. They aren’t hitting (struggling vs. a guy with an ERA of just under 6 coming into this game) and they aren’t pitching. I hope they fix this problem and try starting a new streak tomorrow.

Well, Scott Baker is a very good pitcher when he’s on, and lately he’s been just that. If the A’s caught this guy three weeks ago, it would be another story.

Ok, first of all,I like the pick of Grant Green for the A’s. Sounds like a 5 tool player and the A’s are definately in need of a great shortstop sooner than later. Means, after Cabrerra leaves next season, maybe Crosby for another season, or a few youngsters getting their shot again (Pennington, Petit) untill Green is ready for the big leagues. Secondly, good game last night despite having the A’s offense finally wake up IN THE 9TH!! If I was Geren, first off I’d quit, but in reallity, I would have put in the same guys as relievers. When your down more than a handful of runs and the offense has shown no signs of being productive in the game, then throw in the two relievers who have been doing horrible. Don’t waste the arm of Wuertz or Bailey when they can be used in a close game tomorow, throw in the guys who cant get an out to save their lives. Springer sucks, Casilla used to be awesome, now he sucks, Edgar needs to go back AAA and bring up Gio or Dana or Sean and have them relief and spot start. Other than that, close come back last night, but when it comes to Hanahan or Davis propelling the offense against a great pitcher in Joe Nathan, it aint gonna happen. Go A’s baby, take care guys!
P.S. Good to see big D.B. (Barton) get some swings in!
